Hiatus: Blame Sandy

You know what can get in the way of a post about an emergency response to Hurricane Sandy?

Hurricane Sandy (and a cold, and my own lack of preparation).

Apologies for the hiatus.  I promise good stuff next week.  In the meantime, check out this post on emergency preparedness by my good friend Nisha.  She's been bailing me out of pickles since 1996, sewing many of my home ec class projects (I have trouble with straight lines) and giving me rides just about everywhere (again, straight lines).  Nisha is now a global preparedness expert (who has a packed bag ready to go a moment's notice-- though she often dips into her preparedness pack rations when she doesn't have time to go to the supermarket) at George Washington University.  If you're feeling brave and not easily intimidated by the likes of SARS and smallpox, the rest of the blog is also pretty cool, too.

  1. I am so honored that you re-posted my blog entry. I wonder if this warm fuzzy feeling is because of your kind words and memories evoked from 1996, or perhaps the fact that it's 63*F outside in mid-November and I'm wearing an overly thick sweater. Could be a bit of both...
